Art; The Dutch have a number of world wide known painters and architects of which they are very proud. The most famous painter is Van Gogh or is it the 17e century Rembrandt followed by Vermeer, who also has to be mentioned. Not to forget Mondriaan. Of all four artists there is a lot of work to be found in several national museums. Almost all the work of Van Gogh can be found in the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam and in the Kroller Muller Museum in the East of the country. Vermeer en Rembrandt can be found in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Mauritshuis in the Hague. All Museums are worthwhile a visit.

History; Dutch history is also extremely interesting. The Netherlands was the first republic in the world. Also our water history with Grotius with his publication Mare Liberum, not to forget Erasmus are some Dutch persons to be mentioned in the world history. And then there is the VOC the first multinational in the world dating from the 17e century, bringing trade and wealth to the Netherlands. The Dutch were during their history ocupied by the Romans, the Spanish, the Austrians, the French and the Germans.
